Sterilization is the only solution.

Our Mission

Our Goal

  • No unwanted kittens dumped on the streets or sea front

  • Healthy but much smaller cat colonies

  • Financial support for all steralisations, not just street cats

  • Weekly visits from the vet to the village, making it easier for residents to have their cats treated

  • We would also like to be able to extend financial aid to Dubrovnik Cat Angels to support the work they do in and around the Dubrovnik area. Follow them on Instagram @dubrovnik_cat_angels

  • We aim to improve the life of the communities of cats and kittens in Bol by:

  • TNR (Trap - Neuter - Return) to control the cat population and reduce the number of kittens being born, both for the street cats and for domestic pets

  • Organise the spaying (♀) and neutering (♂) of stray cats in Bol

  • Working with other volunteers, we look after the various cat colonies, with daily feeding, medical assistance and veterinary care when required.

  • Fostering kittens and cats that have been abandoned or dumped and trying to find a new home for them.

  • Educating the community about animal welfare and the importance of sterilisation for stray and domestic cats

  • We as humans possess the power to be kind to animals - it’s a human choice and it is our individual responsibility how we conduct ourselves as humans.

  • Trap

Whilst catching a domestic cat isn’t without its perils, trapping the street cats is a whole different matter. What makes the process more tricky for a large colony, is that it’s always those that have already been sterilised that want to walk into the traps.

Stray cats are trapped and and normally kept overnight until they can be taken to the vets for surgery.

  • Neuter

The clipping takes place under anesthesia (when neutering); it is painless and has no impact either on the behavior of the cat or the ear function.

The ear clipping is the only possibility to clearly/quickly recognize a neutered cat from a distance.

It saves cats from the unnecessary stress of re-capturing.

It is internationally accepted as a sign for neutered/spayed cats.

  • Return

Once they have recovered from surgery, we return them to where they were trapped and then provide them with ongoing care, food and water.
