Please can you help to give a Croatian street cat a home for life

Meet our current cats & kittens waiting for their forever homes.

  • Charlie 2023-2024

Very similar to Berta but much smaller and quieter. He loves a cuddle away from the other 3.

What to say about Charlie, he was the most beautiful cat, who sadly died in February 2024. We had the most amazing 7 months with him, quite a lot of that spent at the vets or having cuddles. We miss him so much.

  • Jake 2023-2024

The smallest of the bunch. We didn’t think this guy was going to make it. He was very lethargic and didnt want to eat, he’d almost given up.

For 7 months we nursed Jake and Charlie through various illnesses and multiple trips to the vets. In the end they both succumbed to a virus and passed away in February 2024. We miss them terribly.

  • Berta - Adopted

Berta and her 3 brothers were dumped on the seafront close to a hotel. They were in a bad way but are starting to recover and will be ready for adoption in 2-3 weeks time (from 15th July).

Amazing news, Berta and Alan have been adopted by a family and are off to their new home soon.

  • Alan - Adopted

Almost identical to Jake, but much bigger, he’s bold and brassy and loves to eat when he’s not chasing Berta.

Alan is heading off to his new home with Berta soon. He and his sister were the biggest and strongest of the four so we are comfortable to let them go. As an adoption condition, their new family have committed to get them both sterilised when they are old enough.

  • Spring

If there’s food nearby then Spring will be there. He would probably eat his own bodyweight every day if we let him.

  • Autumn

The most timid of the three siblings, but he is coming into his own. His eye is clearing up now but will need drops for a few more days yet.

  • Summer

The only girl of the litter, Summer is Intelligent, alert and a bit mischievous, She is the leader of the three, independent and brave.

  • Rocky - Adopted

Rescued from a tree, Rocky has had a tough start but is bouncing back fast. Adorable and fun, still needs some practice using the litter tray.

  • Burli - Adopted

Bulli was dumped on the seafront but had obviously been living with people as he was very social but wouldn’t eat. However, we were approached by a wonderful couple from Austria that have now adopted him. Once the paperwork and quarantine is complete, he will be starting his new life. Safe travels Bulli.

Are you willing to do whatever it takes to make a Croatian cat feel loved somewhere else ?

  • REMEMBER: To dump a Croatian cat in a shelter in your country is never ever an option!

What if the vet check finds a contagious disease (FIV, etc) with ‘your’ Croatian cat?

  • You have started to get involved with the cat and now you have to decide what's best:

  • Adopt

  • Return

  • Euthanasia (for extreme cases only!)

  • Please make sure to educate yourself on your cat's health condition as not all diseases are contagious or should be an issue for adoption. We have a lot of happy end stories with FIV and FELV strays!

Still want to take a cat home?

  • There are lots of street cats and kittens in Croatia. Adoption is their best chance of survival. Contact us if you want to adopt one of our rescues. Note: There are no cat shelters available to us and all our rescues are in foster homes.

If you have found a stray cat that you want to take home, we will do our very best to help you & your cat/s as much as possible but please consider the following costs. We will arrange vaccinations and passports, but please don’t decide on your last day here, as it all takes time to organise.

  • 150 EUR - (mandatory for traveling) includes: chip, passport, tests, vaccine, deworm, deflea

  • We can not cover travel costs. So if you have to leave before your cat is ready to travel, you will need to factor in extra costs to either come back and collect them or for us to arrange to bring them to you. Depending on your location this could be via road or via air. We would always prefer for the cats to travel accompanied in the cabin of an aircraft rather than in the hold.
